Recommended By NespressoDude

Welcome to the Nespresso tutorial video on how to descale your Gemini 203 or Gemini 223 machine. To ensure the perfect cup of coffee, we recommend descaling your Gemini machine at least once a year. Nespresso Club offers a descaling kit specially designed for your Nespresso machine. In this video, you will see just how easy it is to remove lime scale from your machine. To start the descaling cycle, put the machine in standby mode. Empty the drip tray and capsule containers. If applicable, remove the milk container. Separate the steam wand using the included key from the Gemini collector set. If you have a Gemini 223 machine, screw on the transparent tube. If you have a Gemini 203 machine, simply connect the soft end of the transparent tube to the hot water wand. Replace the drip tray and capsule containers. Place the two collector trays under each wand. If your machine has a water filter, remove it from the water tank. If the machine is connected to a water source, close the valve at the back of the machine. You also need to deactivate the water source in the menu. Switch the machine to “Standby” mode and then press and hold the Ristretto, Espresso, and Lungo buttons for 3 seconds. Use the Ristretto button to scroll down to the menu and select the “Direct Water Connection (ON)” option. Press the Espresso button to select this option and then deactivate the water source by pressing the Ristretto button. The word “ON” will change to “OFF”. Press the Espresso button to access and confirm this option. Scroll through the menu to find the “Descaling” option and press the button again to activate it. Water will now flow through the hot water wand. When the cycle stops, remove the water tanks from the machine and fill the left water tank with approximately 2 liters of water and 4 Nespresso descaling solution sachets. Then pour 2 sachets with approximately 1 liter of water into the right water tank. Press any button to continue the descaling cycle. The water will first flow through the steam wand, then through the hot water wand, and finally through the coffee outlet. Once the descaling cycle is complete, empty and rinse the collector trays and return them to the machine. Empty and rinse the water tanks and refill them with fresh water. To start the rinse cycle, simply press one of the buttons. Once the rinse cycle is complete, empty the collector trays. The machine will enter standby mode once the descaling process is finished. Now you can start up your machine and use it as usual. If the machine is connected to a water source, you will need to reactivate it. Then, turn the key located at the back of the machine. Remove the transparent tube from the steam wand and reattach the steam wand. For Gemini 223 machines, place the thermos and milk container back in place. Your Gemini 200 or Gemini 220 machine is now ready to use. Enjoy our range of coffees, specifically designed to optimize the extraction quality of your machine and ensure the maximum quality of Nespresso coffee, cup after cup.
