Nespresso U: Directions for Use

Recommended By NespressoDude

Welcome to this video from Nespresso’s Technical Support Service on the Instructions for Use. The exceptional character of Nespresso coffee is no coincidence. To enjoy a perfect cup of Nespresso coffee at any time, we recommend that you follow these simple instructions. To turn on the machine, simply press any button or open the slider. If the machine has not been used for the past 9 minutes, it will automatically enter standby mode to reduce energy consumption. During the preheating phase, a button will blink for 25 seconds. Your U machine will anticipate your cup size selection based on the last 11 coffees you brewed. For example, if you’ve prepared 10 Espressos out of the last 11 coffees, the U machine will automatically select the Espresso size for your next cup. We will now show you how to adjust the desired volume. Just press the button that corresponds to your chosen option (Ristretto, Espresso, or Lungo). Insert a Nespresso capsule, close the slider, and the flow will start automatically. During the flow phase, you can modify the volume of the cup by pressing the button of your preferred option. You can stop the flow at any time by slightly opening the slider. The capsule will be expelled in 4 seconds. Before it is expelled, you can manually increase the volume of the cup by pressing the button. To stop the flow, simply press the button again. To get as close as possible to your personal expectations, you can program the desired quantity for Ristretto, Espresso, or Lungo. Insert a Nespresso capsule, and to program the desired quantity, hold down the button that corresponds to your chosen option. Close the slider. When the cup reaches the desired level, release the button. Your machine is now programmed. From now on, every time you press the button, the coffee will flow automatically up to the desired quantity. If the three buttons located next to the water tank are blinking upwards, this indicates that the water tank is empty. If the three buttons are blinking downwards, it means that the used capsule container is full. If the three buttons are blinking simultaneously, this indicates that the descaling mode has been activated. To exit the cycle, simply hold down the three buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. We recommend that you empty the used capsule container and the drip tray frequently to avoid any spills. After using the machine for the last time, let a cup of water flow without any capsule inside to eliminate any residue that may have remained in the water system. To maintain optimal temperature and the quality of your espresso, descale your machine regularly. We advise against using vinegar, as it could damage the machine’s connections. Instead, we recommend using the Nespresso descaling solution, which has been specifically designed for your machine.
