How Often To Descale Nespresso Machines

Nespresso recommends that you decal your machine once every three months, or 300 capsules. It is even more important to descale taps that have “hard water”. It has higher levels minerals.

A light will be found on many Nespresso models including Vertuo machines. This will indicate that your machine needs to be scaled. The light on the VertuoPlus may appear half-red/half green, but some people might perceive it as yellow. The Next and Vertuo models will also have a blinking yellow light. Although you can continue to use your computer for several minutes even after the warning light goes off, it’s recommended that you descale your computer immediately.

The entire process takes about 20 minutes. You cannot stop the process, so make sure you have everything you need and enough time to complete it.

How To Descale Nespresso VertuoPlus

Descaling solutions will be required. Your machine manual will contain instructions on how to scale using a solution kit. Click the link to view an illustrated guide for Nespresso Vertuoplus decaling.

Press the button to turn the machine on.
Any capsules that are not being used should be thrown out. To close the machine, push the lever down.
To turn the machine off, push the lever 3 seconds. You must empty the capsule container and cup support.
These instructions will guide you in adding the solution, water, and other ingredients to the tank.
You can start scaling in 3 seconds by pressing both the button and lever simultaneously. The orange light will come on.
You will need to press the lever again within two minutes for descaling. The green light will be displayed.
Place 20 fl. oz bowl.
To scale, click on the button. Once the process is complete, the machine will stop.
Rinse the water tank and cup supports. Fill the tank with water, and then put it back.
To rinse the machine, push the button once more. The machine will stop once it is finished. The machine can be stopped by pressing the button once every two seconds, until the orange light blinks.
Hold down the lever for three seconds and then press the button to exit the descaling mode. The light should change to green.
Let the machine dry for 10 minutes before you use it.

Remove the capsules. The drip tray should be empty.
These instructions will guide you in adding the solution, water, and other ingredients to the tank.
To turn the machine on, close the door and lock it. Let it heat up. It is finished heating when the light stops flashing.
Empty any capsules by opening the lid. Close the machine, and then move the lever towards the front.
To enter descaling mode, press and hold the button for not less than 7 seconds. When it is ready, the button will flash quickly. The button will flash rapidly when it is ready. There are still 45 seconds to go before you can move on to the next step.
Move the lever towards the lock symbol to unlock the lever. For at least seven seconds, keep the button unlocked.

Move the lever left towards the lock symbol to unlock the lever. For 7 seconds, hold the button in lock position.
Place 20 fl. oz container.
Turn the lever to the right to unlock the machine. Next, press the button. When the first phase is complete, it will stop.
Rinse the water tank.
The tank should contain no less than half the water. To rinse the machine, press the button. When the cycle is complete, it will stop.
To exit the descaling mode, hold the button down for 7 seconds. The button will then be stable.
Allow the machine to dry for 10 minutes before using it.
