Safeway Introduces Nespresso and Vertuo Coffee Pods

Safeway is launching its own private-label coffee pods. These are compatible with a variety of single-serve brewers, including Keurig and Nespresso brewers. These coffee pods will be available in several flavors, and will cost $0.33 per serving. Previously, the retailer only offered the French Vanilla and Hazlenut varieties. Now, the supermarket chain has a variety of pods to choose from.

While the price ranges for Vertuo and Nespresso machines are similar, they are different in terms of flavor and intensity. The original brand uses more espresso than the Vertuo line and has more choices. They also work with machines that accept pods from other brands. Some of these models can brew up to 14 ounces. A typical Safeway pod can yield one ounce of coffee, which may not be enough for a large size.

The Vertuo and Nespresso machines use the same amount of water as the originals. The original line of pods uses 20 percent more espresso. While the Vertuo and Nespresso models have the same amount of water, they use different types of espresso. The five sizes include the traditional coffee, double espresso, and Gran Lungo. The Alto XL has a larger capacity, which can make a larger cup of coffee.

The Vertuo uses the same amount of water to produce a cup of coffee. Unlike the Nespresso brand, the original Vertuo pods are made with milk instead of water. They are proprietary and not compatible with other machines. They are designed to be compatible with the original machines. However, it is important to note that Vertuo coffee pods may not be suitable for use in all Nespresso machines.

In addition to releasing its own private-label coffee, Safeway also plans to launch five other coffee pods. The company will be selling these coffee pods compatible with Keurig single-serve brewers. They will be compatible with the two other brands of coffee pods. This is the first time a retailer is offering a public-label product. While the introduction of new products is welcomed by many customers, some consumers may not be ready to pay full price for them.
